Expect Jazz Standards And More At Choral Society Concert

The Newtown Choral Society, under the direction of Mary Andreotta and accompanied by Todd Gorski, will present selections from Smokey Joe’s Café, jazz standards popularized by The Manhattan Transfer, and “Bohemian Rhapsody” at its spring concert on Saturday, May 22. The concert will begin at 7:30 and will be presented at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.

The choir will be accompanied by a six piece jazz sextet with David Reinhardt on sax, Chris Benson on trumpet, Todd Gorski on piano and Newtown High School students Nathaniel Basch-Gould on guitar, Evan Gregiori on bass and Daniel Letson on drums.

The soloist for “Bohemian Rhapsody” will be Daniel J. O’Connor, Jr, a fifth grade student at St Rose school.

Tickets are $9 and $7 for seniors and those ages 12 and under.
