Book Discussion ‘End Of The Affair’

RIDGEFIELD — Graham Greene’s celebrated novel The End of the Affair will be up for discussion by both book groups at Ridgefield Library this month.

On Tuesday, November 14, the Critic’s Circle Book Group will meet to discuss the book. The program will begin at 7 pm. The AM Book Group will take its turn on Wednesday, November 15, at 10 am.

A profound look at a love triangle, not only between three people but also between the love for another, the love for one’s god and the love for oneself, is at the core of Greene’s post-WWII novel.

Those who enjoy the “contrast and compare” approach of viewing a film which was based on a book are invited to the library for a screening of The End of the Affair, starring Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore, on Tues, Nov 7, at 1 and 7 pm.

The book groups and film screening are free and open to the public. New members are always welcome to join book discussions. Call Susan Verrilli, director of adult programs at Ridgefield Library, at 203/438-2282. The library is at 472 Main Street/Route 35.
