Newtown High School athletes earned All State and All South-West Conference accolades for their efforts during the fall season. Selections have been announced for all sports with the exception of football.

First Team All State honorees from Newtown are diver Kari Djonne; cross country runners Sarah Mawdsley, Olivia Hage, and Erin Tressler; and soccer player Madeline Sieber. Second Team selections are volleyball player Jamie Calandro; and field hockey player Kayla DiSibio.

All SWC selections are as follows:

Girls’ Cross Country: First Team: Sarah Mawdsley, Erin Tressler, Olivia Hage, Emma Bayuk. Second Team: Madison Findley, Kelsey Miller, Willow Pears.

Boys’ Cross Country: Second Team: Riely Rising, Christian Lestik, Joel Duvall, Brenden Reeds.

Boys’ Soccer: First Team: James Cochrane, Shane Gattey. Colonial Team: Elliot Bennett, Forest Weatheby, James Carney, Josh Houle.

Girls’ Soccer: First Team: Madeline Sieber, Sarah Houle. Colonial Team: Alana Murray, Camryn Cicarelli, Makenna Cerney.

Girls’ Swimming And Diving: First Team: Kari Djonne. Second Team: Gillian Eckwall. Third Team: Emma Brantl, Megan Olszewski, Gianna Terracino, Mary Hufzinger.
