Litchfield Holiday Open House

LITCHFIELD — On Sunday, December 9, Litchfield Historical Society will present a holiday open house at Litchfield History Museum, 7 South Street, from 2 to 4 pm.

Children will have the opportunity to visit Santa Claus and the historical society will take digital photographs of them to take home or to use in creating a special ornament.

The society’s annual holiday ornament workshop will be offered this year during the open house in the museum’s Research Library. Children will have the opportunity to choose from several historic ornament designs as well as fun contemporary varieties. Special emphasis will be placed on employing natural materials used throughout American history, including acorns, seed pods, bay leaves, and dried grasses.

All visitors will also be invited to indulge in holiday cookies and hot cider. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. For additional information contact the society at 860-567-4501.
