How long have you lived in Newtown? Weâve lived here about 40 years.
What do you like to do in your free time? Mainly, I spend time every day cutting, splitting, and selling wood. Iâm a big sports fan. I do like to watch sports. I donât watch anything else on television.
Do you have a favorite sports team? Iâm a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. A couple of times a year, I try to get up to Fenway Park, and I go over to watch their triple-A team, the PawSox, in Rhode Island.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? We go on cruises, just to the Caribbean. You canât beat these cruises. The food is good, and the entertainment and the excursions are all fun.
What is the best thing about Newtown? Itâs convenient to everything. Itâs convenient to the City, and itâs convenient to the malls. And we love our property. We have the woods and the ponds. Itâs hard to duplicate that.
What is the biggest change you have seen in town? Population. I used to be the third or fourth house off of Boggs Hill. Now, I think Iâm about the twentieth.
Who do you most admire? Iâm thinking of Ted Williams, for his veteran service and his baseball playing. He was a fighter pilot in two wars, and a great baseball player for the Red Sox.
Do you have a personal philosophy? Just be happy and be healthy.
What makes you happiest? When the Red Sox win â and when they beat the Yankees!
