Dr David G.   Kaufman

Dr David G. Kaufman, 86, husband of the late Shirley (Goodman) Kaufman of Taunton Lake Drive, died February 1 in Danbury Hospital.

He was born in Malden, Mass., on June 4, 1918, a son of the late Arthur and Lottie (Cohen) Kaufman. Dr Kaufman was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and he earned his PhD from Harvard University. From 1967 to his retirement in 2003, he was an administrator at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

A resident of Newtown the past 48 years, David was a longtime member of the Newtown Rotary Club and was Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. He was a supporter of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library and volunteered at the annual book sale. David was the developer of the Autumn Ridge housing development off Currituck Road in Newtown.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Fieldman of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Rosenbaum of Scarsdale, N.Y.; a grandson, Peter Lomenzo of Los Angeles; a granddaughter, Meg Lomenzo of Chicago, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial were held at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, N.Y.
