Boys U10

Cobras 1, Brookfield 0 – Christian Mather scored the lone goal off an assist from Matt Rahtelli to lead the Cobras to the win. Matt and Sean Elliot shared keeper duty as Pieter Martino, Noah Sock, Keegan Lombard and Chris Erikson anchored the defense.

Cobras 7, New Hartford 0 – Connor Quinn scored a pair of goals while Christian Mather, Nick Barreto, Andrew Kelley, Stephen Conway and Chris Erikson notched one apiece to lead the Cobras to the win. Eric Fiore, Quinn and Conway had assists. Matt Rahtelli, Noah Sock, Pieter Martino and Keegan Lombard anchored the D.

Cobras 3, Watertown 1 – Dan Bittman, Connor Quinn and Chris Erikson scored to lead the Cobras past Watertown. Stephen Conway and Eric Fiore dominated the midfield as Matt Rahtelli and Sean Elliot defended the pipes as Noah Sock, Pieter Martino, Francis Saraceni and Keegan Lombard played well on defense.

Cobras 1, New Fairfield 1 - Connor Quinn scored the lone Newtown goal in a draw with New Fairfield. Eric Fiore, Danny Bittman and Stephen Conway played extremely well.

 

Boys U11

Crusaders 2, Southbury 1 – Hank Helgren and Conrad Normann scored as the Crusaders rallied from a 1-0 deficit to capture the Northwest District championship. Sean Burson registered an assist. Ryan Dunnigan and Adam Ellison led the offense as Dan Gallagher, Travis LeBlanc, Josh Barrett and goaltender Austin Puleri anchored the D.

Girls U11

The Newtown Power captured the U12 championship at the Maine Bowdoin College Coastal Summer Challenge with wins over the Maine Heat (3-1), Derry Eagles (3-0), Far Post SC (4-0) and Massachusetts Delta Force (2-1) in the championship game.

Power 3, Maine 1 – Meaghan Carney, Maddy Keane and Ali Korchman scored to lead the Power to the win. Carney had a pair of assists and Keane notched one. Jessica Jowdy and Cristina Caporale played well in the midfield as Brooke Leifels and Cristina Naldini played superb defense in front of goaltender Kendall Svanda.

Power 3, Derry 0 – Ale Fuentes scored a pair of goals and Molly Mahony added a goal and an assist to lead the Power. Abbie Keough, Cassie Fallon and Katherine Scott powered the defense.

Power 4, Far Post SC 0 – Ali Korchman scored a pair of goals while Molly Mahony and Kelley Gaston scored solo goals to lead the Power. Ale Fuentes, Nora Murphy, Gaston and Maddy Keane provided assists as Nicole Davis supported the offense with strong play. Kendall Svanda and Christina Caporale shared the shutout at goal.

Power 2, Massachusetts Delta Force 1 – Leah Barrett scored a pair of goals to lead the Power past the Delta Force in the Coastal Challenge championship game. Ale Fuentes and Molly Mahony had assists. Meagan Carney, Ali Korchman, Maddy Keane and Jessica Jowdy all played well at midfield as Cristina Naldini and Katherine Scott were superb on defense.

Girls U12

Roadrunners 7, New Milford 5 – KellyAnne Brophy scored three goals and Lauren Meyer added two as the ‘Runners out-gunned New Milford. Sarah Murtha and Kaitlin Brophy also scored while Jill Jagoe had three assists. Becca Jaroszewski and Alex Israel posted solid games.

Roadrunners 6, Brookfield 2 – Kaitlin Brophy scored three goals and Lauren Meyer added two to lift the Roadrunners to the win. KellyAnne Brophy popped in a goal while Casey Rutter made some great saves in goal. Kristen Stoller, Becca Castegner, Emma Kingsley and Kelly O’Conner played great games.    

 

Boys U13

Raptors 3, Amity 1 – Nahba Bropleh scored a pair of goals and George Zaruba chipped in one to lead Newtown. Matt Slattery, Andy Lapple, and Ben Miles anchored the D as Chris McCann and Kyle Kromberg played strong midfield.

Raptors 1, Southbury 1 – Matt Baier scored the lone Newtown goal on an assist from Ben Mahony to lead Newtown. Casey Tenney played well in the midfield as Dan Greenwood and Andy Lapple were solid on D.

Raptors 4, Stratford 1 – George Zaruba scored a pair of goals as Nahba Bropleh and Ben Mahony notched one apiece to lead Newtown. Chris McCann and Kyle Kromberg played a strong midfield while Dan Clement played well in goal. Ben Miles and Dan Greenwood controlled the D.

Raptors 2, Southbury 1 (2 OT) – George Zaruba scored a pair of goals as Newtown slipped past Southbury in the Northwest District championship game. Matt Iassogna played well on offense as Matt Slattery, Ben Mahony and Andy Lapple anchored the D.  Xjulio Halili played well in goal while Gene Kallivrousis had an excellent tournament on defense.

IN-HOUSE

Girls U8

Funky Monkeys 3, Cheetahs 1 – Kerry Scallon, Hayley Dunn and Paige Thansoulis scored to lead the Monkeys to the win. Kelsey Muniz and Avery Black played well. For the Cheetahs, Jessica Keller scored while Makenzie Casey and Jessica Coughlin anchored the D.

Bulldogs 3, Cheetahs 1 – Nicole O’Leary scored three goals to lead the Bulldogs to the win. Emily Sippin and Emma Burns played well. For the Cheetahs, Jessica Keller scored the lone goal while Kelly Coughlin, Jessica Coughlin and Makenzie Casey had superb performances.

Shockers 2, Funk Monkeys 0 – Megan Normann and Katherine Clark scored the goals to lift the Shockers to the win. Elizabeth Helmig,Victoria Madden and Tess Stofko put in great all-around performances.  For the Funky Monkeys, Rebecca Grant played well on defense and Emma Sullivan was persistent on offense.  Hayley Dunn and Kerry Scallon played all their positions well.

Shooting Stars 5, Thunderbolts 2 – Emma Champagne scored three goals and Brooke Newtown added two to lead the Stars to the win. Jamison Fletcher, Erin Bernardi and Megan Weber all played well.

Bulldogs 2, Huskies 1 – Emma Burns and Nicole O’Leary each scored to lead the ‘Dogs in the win. Alyssa Ruefenacht, Brenna Kelly and Emily Sippin played well. For the Huskies, Portia  Baudisch scored while Samantha Cannavo and Emily Riley were strong on offense and Alleen Sheluck and Sarah Craig were a force on defense.

Boys U8

Tigers 3, Bulldogs 1 – Connor Gallagher scored a pair of goals and Wesley Morlock added one to lead the Tigers to the win. Austin Raftery notched a couple of assists as Jonathan Schwartz and Vavik Tedla played well. For the ‘Dogs, Clay Gattey scored while Ryan McFarland, Will Swain and Christopher Horkachuck had strong performances.

Werewolves 1, Blue Thunder 0 – Matthew Wood scored the lone goal off an assist from Michael Lally to lead the Werewolves to the win. Zachary Wieland and Sam Boland played well on defense to turn back several scoring chances.  For the Blue Thunder, Connor Roche and Harry Sulaski played well on offense while Bradley Kretz and Sawyer Hanna played well defensively.

Gators 4, Huskies 0 – Brenton Scott scored three goals and Patrick Berger added a solo goal to lead the Gators. Michael Cloonan played well. For the Huskies, Stephen Walsh, Jared Brady and Alex Gerbo all played well.

Boys U10

Dragons 2, Wolverines 2 – Doug Miller and Deegan Beuchemin scored to lead the Dragons to the win. Kevin Ovendorf was solid in net. Brandon Rodriguez and Trevor Connolly played well. For the Wolverines, Adam Hufziger and Charlie Poarch scored while Liam McNichols had a great game.

Mud Monkeys 2, Devilish Ducklings 0 – Jake Tolson and Jimmy Mooney scored the goals to lift the Monkeys to the win. Ryan Moyer had an assist and Mac received a clean sheet in goal while stopping a penalty kick. For the Ducklings, Walker Mansfield had a strong all-around game as Nicky Shannon, Anders Fogelberg and Taylor Rutter played well.

Pink Muffins 2, Eagles 0 – Patrick Riccardi and Patrick Thornberg each scored a goal to lift the Muffins to the win in the U10 championship game. Robert Willis and Tyler Hanley both played great as goalies and William Carr played solid defense along with Patrick Haggerty. For the Eagles, Robert Nordman, Nathan Norwich, and Philip Lyon were tough on defense with Garrett Cebry and Ryan Pisani playing solid offense.

Wildfires 2, Blue Dragons 1 (OT) – The Wildfires slipped past the Dragons in the Consolation Championship, winning on penalty kicks. Stefan Dullinger of the ‘Fires and Drew Sullivan of the Dragons scored the regulation goals. For the ‘Fires, Francis Afriyie, Peter Kearns, Robbie Beier and Alec Lockhart played well. For the Dragons, Jimmy Russo and Sean Watkins were solid in goal.

Girls U10

Fireballs 5, Firekickers 2 – Stefanie Clavette scored one goal and had one assist to lead the Fireballs to victory. Tami Corsi, Jaclyn Daily, Alex Klein and Hannah Maret also scored. Dana Bowers and Jennifer Van Veen led the Firekickers offense with a goal apiece as Jilliana Ciammarra was solid on defense and Molly Arneth was super in midfield.

Crusaders 2, Fireballs 1 (OT) – Kelsey Karp of the Crusaders and Hannah Maret of the Fireballs scored the lone regulation goals, leading to the penalty kick shootout. Jennifer Davis scored the winning goal in PKs. Marysa Audet played a strong defensive game for the Crusaders and Katie Shirley was outstanding in goal. For the Fireballs, Stefanie Clavette was amazing as goalkeeper, and Emily Cannavo and Brittany Heck played strong games as well.

Crusaders 4, Mighty Tigers 0 – Kelsey Karp scored twice while Allison Blume and Jennifer Davies each added one to lift the Crusaders to the win. Zoe Eggleston and Sally Martinelli played outstanding games. Emily Ashbolt and Alyssa Finkenstadt played well on defense for the Tigers. Alexa Powell and Abby Hungaski played well on offense.

Firekickers 4, Jawbreakers 3 – Dana Bowers, Lindsay Jossick, Kelly van Veen, and Maddy Good scored a goal apiece to lead the Firekickers to the win. For the ‘Breakers, Claire Miles scored three times while Alyce Brautigam and Alexandra Duris were fabulous in goal and Jessica Haitz and Abby Blakeman were stalwarts on defense.

Crusaders 2, Firekickers 0 – Kelsey Karp scored twice to lead the Crusaders to the win in the U10 championship game. Zoe Eggleston, Allison Blume and Jennifer Davies excelled while Marysa Audet and Emily Albrecht were outstanding in defense. For the ‘Kickers, Holly Champagne and Paige Kroha were super in midfield as Maria Biondi and Jilliana Ciamarra played well up front.

Metrostars 2, Tigers 1 – Celeste Cheung and Courtney Beckett scored off assists by Allie Brazo and Meaghan Harkins to lead the Metrostars to the win in the U10 consolation game. Lexi Black and Jane Sclafani were strong on defense for the ‘Stars. For the Tigers, Mallory Reilly scored with an assist from Alyssa Finkenstadt. Abbey Hungaski and Caroline Kingsley played well and Claire Bernson was tough in goal.

Girls U14

Huskies 4, Mud Monkeys 1 – Rebecca Whitney scored three goals with assists from Anna Chamiec-Pauneto and Caroline Lawrence to lead the Huskies to the win. Nicole Vournazos scored with an assist from Gabrielle Milano. Sarah Mc Mahon also had a great game. Kaitlyn Connolly scored for the Mud Monkeys as Emily Floros, Bianca Labanc and Katie Cummings played well.

Rip Tide 5, Rapids 0 – Rachel Taback scored two goals to lead the Rip Tide to the win. Megan McGowan, Katelyn Vayan, Anna Bernath and Maura Gissen also scored. For the Rapids, Emily Audet and Samantha Whitley played well in goal as Courtney Berko, Lauren Pettinelli and Elena Unschuld were solid in the midfield.

Turkeys 5, Pink Ladies 4 – Rachele Cox scored two goals while Olivia Dillon, Lisa Favicchia and Brie Woloszywski each scored a goal to lead the Turkeys to the win. For the Pink Ladies, Alyssa Carey and Kaley Kruger each scored two goals while Jenna Bonnacorso, Ashley Rothacker and Michelle Haitz had great games.

Huskies 2, Rapids 2 – Anna Chamec-Pauneto and Rebecca Whitney scored on assists from Michelle DiBlasio and Gabrielle Milano to lead the Huskies to the draw. For the Rapids, Ashley Leifels scored with an assist from Courtney Berko while Elena Unschuld played a great sweep.
