What is one of your favorite things about the technology offered at Reed Intermediate School? Asked of teachers at RIS.

Mike Altenburger: “The lap top computer cart. A teacher can have each student work with a lap top in the classroom.”

Eric Myhill: “The goose neck camera. It has excellent uses in science class, particularly in showing the entire class an experiment. Also the LCD projector with the air stream informational videos it offers.”

Tim McGuire: “All the technology offered here. It brings a lot of different avenues and everything is much more visual. It really brings so many more resources to the classroom.”

Karen King: “I would have to say the overhead LCD projector. We can simultaneously benefit and share together things from all over the world via the Internet. We can visit a museum together.”

Matt Brown: “The projector coupled with the Internet allows me to take the students on a virtual tour of the world. It makes the classroom larger than the four walls that enclose us.”

Karen Lane: “The new cordless mouse and keyboard used with the overhead projector. That’s the newest toy! It allows the kids to pass it around and share typing on it; it’s especially good for teaching grammar.”
