Business Women’s Conference Slated For Oct. 16

SOUTHBURY — The Business Women’s Forum of Waterbury announced that actress and entrepreneur Susan Saint James and international speaker and educator Connie Podesta have been selected to address the organization’s 21st annual conference on Thursday, October 16, from 8 am to 5 pm, at the Hilton in Southbury.

“BWF 2003: Reaching High” is a one-day conference designed to give participants access to information for personal and professional growth as well as networking opportunities. The primary sponsor for the event is Wachovia Bank with executive sponsorships from Barker Specialty, Banknorth Connecticut, Fleet Bank, Space Age Copy, The Worx Group, and Webster Bank. Additional support comes from the Small Business Administration, Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce, and Teikyo Post University.

The registration free is $125, which includes lunch and wrap-up reception.

A former actress on such shows as McMillan and Wife and Kate and Allie, Susan Saint James now runs “Betty at the Beehive,” a children’s radio program, and the company Seedling and Pip, a service that provides baskets of books for babies.

Motivational speaker Connie Podesta is president of Connie Podesta Presents, and the author of How To Be The Person Successful Companies Fight To Keep, published by Simon & Schuster,  Self Esteem and the Six-Second Secret and Life Would Be Easy If It Weren’t For Other People. She is also an experienced radio and talk show host; a comedienne and entertainer, and an accomplished actress and successful playwright, writing and performing her play Journey before audiences throughout the world.
