AIDS Ministry Sponsors Seminar

DANBURY — The Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury will sponsor “Youth Reacting to AIDS: Youth Empowerment Conference VII” on May 3, from 9 am to 4 pm at the Sheraton Danbury (formerly the Hilton).

The conference, an annual event which has been called “the best kept secret in Connecticut” by the State Department of Public Health, will be conducted primarily by youth between the ages of 13 and 18. It will focus on HIV/AIDS education and prevention. Workshops will address issues such as safer sex, living with HIV/AIDS, teaching strategies, youth outreach, and community planning.

Eric Garrison, noted authority on sexuality and public health, will be returning by popular demand as the keynote speaker.
