Mitchell F. Golembeski

Mitchell F. Golembeski, 76, of Stratford, died on June 18 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Dolores (Mangler) Golembeski; three devoted children, Theresa Golembeski and fiancé, Robert Rivera, of Newtown, Walter Golembeski and his wife, Erica, of West Haven, and Patricia Ruskin and her husband, Brian, of Stratford; and five grandchildren, Seth Golembeski, and Christopher, Samuel, Benjamin and Sarah Ruskin. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Golembeski.

Mr Golembeski, a World War II veteran of the US Army, was born in Nichols to the late Walter and Sophie Golembeski, and had been a resident of Stratford for the past 35 years. Prior to that he lived in Bridgeport. He was a retired tool and die maker for Emhart Company, was a member of VFW Post 9460, Stratford, and was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan.

Funeral services with full military honors will take place on Friday, June 21, at 1:30 pm in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford, with the Rev James Smyka officiating. At the request of the family, calling hours have been omitted.

The Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
