Ruth Stenroos, 100, died June 10 at the Sarah Neuman Nursing Home in Mamaroneck, N.Y., where she had resided for the last six years.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Sonja Haskel and husband, Larry, of Newtown, and Ray Stenroos and wife, Carol, of New Rochelle, N.Y. Surviving are eight grandchildren, Carl Anderson, Curt Anderson, Eric Haskel, Alan Haskel, Laura Stenroos, Wendy Guilliano, Raymond Stenroos, Erik Stenroos; as well as eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Julia Persson, 103, of Norwalk and a sister and brother in Sweden; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of Sweden

Mrs Stenroos was born on December 13, 1905, in Jamshog, Sweden, and came to the United States in 1928. She married Stewart Johnson in 1938 and lived in Westchester County most of her life. She had her own beauty salon in Valhalla, N.Y., for many years. After being widowed she married Nils Stenroos in 1960 and moved to New Rochelle. She was predeceased by Mr Stenroos in 1987.

Services were held at George T. Davis Funeral Home and interment was a Beechwood Cemetery in New Rochelle.
