NEWTOWN GREEN 11, BETHEL 8: Andrew Chimileski was 4-for-4 with a couple of doubles and four RBI as Newtown defeated Bethel. Seth Hull was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI while Rich Temple was on base four times and scored two runs. Jared Westhaven, Matt Brayton and Jim Leebaert all played well in the field while Alex Dolan – allowing just one hit over the final three innings – pitched well.

RIDGEFIELD 8, NEWTOWN GREEN 7: Mike Hennessey pitched four solid innings and helped himself by going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, but Newtown fell to Ridgefield. Alex Dolan (2-for-3), Andrew Chimileski (2-for-4), Matt Brayton and Eric Rodriguez all drove in runs. Dolan also played well at first base.

NEWTOWN RED DEVILS 6, WOODBURY 4: Ben Striano, Brian Duffy, and Brad Rochwarger pitched well while Duffy, Jon Graham and Pete Oggeri struck the ball hard in a win over Woodbury. Nick Pollard and Liam Cawley were strong in the field.

NEWTOWN RED DEVILS 10, NEW MILFORD 1: Pete Oggeri, Brad Rochwarger and Mike Ferrero hit the ball well as the Red Devils crushed New Milford. Ben Striano and Jon Graham played hard in the field. Rochwarger, Brian Duffy and David Modzelewski pitched a good game.

MAJORS

 

NEWTOWN BOMBERS 5, BETHEL 0: Max Muraskiewicz pitched a one-hitter and also belted out three hits to lead the Bombers to the win. Robert Brautigan, Mike Frattarolli and Brett LeBlanc had three hits apiece. Tom Merrifield made a great play at third and Ricky Camejo made a nice catch in right field.

BROOKFIELD 11, NEWTOWN BOMBERS 10: Kurt Nacewicz collected four hits and Mike Frattarolli had three more, but the Bombers fell to Brookfield. Keith Hoffman, Zach Gordon and Mike Bunger played well in the field. Mickey Fay and Brett LeBlanc showed their mettle by pitching out of bases-loaded jams.

NEWTOWN EAGLES 4, BETHEL CAPRI PIZZA 1: Adam Feldman, Danny Cartisano and David Kopyscinski hit the ball well to lead the Eagles to the win. Matt Cluff and Kevin Herring were strong in the field mike Mike Woessner, Mike Maher and Chris Basso all pitched well.

NEWTOWN EAGLES 2, NEWTOWN (#9) 1: Mike Maher, Mike Woessner and Joel Minalgo pitched a stellar game to lead the Eagles to the win. Walt Murphy, Matt Cluff and Evan Gregoire both hit the ball well. Danny Cartisano and Max Rochwarger played well in the field. For Newtown #9, Stephan Toi and Bobby Spencer pitched a solid game.

NEWTOWN EAGLES 5, NEWTOWN (#12) 4: Matt Cluff, Max Rochwarger and Adam Feldman had the hits that helped lead the Eagles to the win. Joel Minalgo and Evan Gregoire played solid defense as Mike Maher, Jared Modzelewski and Chris Basso pitched well. For Newtown #12, Kurtis Liska and Alex Magoulas pitched well while Francis Oggeri, Sean Matsche and Alex Magoulas hit the ball hard.

NEWTOWN EAGLES 10, NEWTOWN BOMBERS 6: Tony Gallucci, Walt Murphy and Mike Woessner powered an offense that scored 10 runs in a win. Jared Modzelewski, Tony Gallucci and Mike Maher all pitched well while Danny Cartisano, David Kopyscinski and Kevin Herring were solid in the field. For the Bombers, Tom Merrifield, Mickey Fay and Max Muraskiewicz hit the ball well. Muraskiewicz and Fay also pitched a good game.

MINORS

 

NEWTOWN (#3) 6, BROOKFIELD 5: George Delia earned a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth to push Tim Zimmerman across the plate with winning run. Herlof Sorenson, Kyle Kromberg and George Zaruba all pitched well for Newtown while Sorenson, Kromberg and Shane Wurtz hit the ball hard. Dylan Huebner, Conor Carmen and Nate Crevier were solid in the field.

ROOKIES

 

CUBS versus RANGERS: Timmy Wilder, Mark Agugliaro, Connor Mason and Timmy Young all played well for the Rangers
