All-Stars Raising Funds For JD With Masquerade Ball
FAIRFIELD â Abbyâs All Stars will hold its Second Annual Masquerade Ball fundraiser on Saturday, October 24, at Vazzyâs 19th Hole at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course.
Funds from this event will be used to grant financial assistance to applicants having trouble funding out-of-pocket uninsured juvenile (Type I) diabetes supplies such as infusion sets, syringes, glucose meters, and testing strips.
With the organization going into its second year, director Jennifer Occhicone is enthusiastic about the future of Abbyâs All Stars, and all involved are working hard to grow the organizationâs assets and donations in the coming year.
High school freshman Jason McElveen was the most recent recipient of an Abbyâs All Stars grant, which was used to underwrite attendance at Camp Joslin, a diabetes camp in Massachusetts. He and his grandmother, Willa Mae Allen, and the leaders of Abbyâs All Stars will be on hand at the ball volunteering and speaking to guests throughout the evening.
The Second Annual Masquerade Ball fundraiser opens at 8 pm. Tickets for the eveningâs raffle will be $20 each, and the grand prize will be a $1,000 travel voucher.
Event tickets will cost $60 per person and can be purchased through the organizationâs website, www.abbysallstars.org. Further information can be found on the website or by emailing info@abbysallstars.org.
