Renegades Go For Another State Triumph
The Newtown Renegades, this past week, won four straight games in district pool play, concluding in New Milford, to qualify for the Cal Ripken 11U Connecticut State Tournament. The team beat Hebron 19-2, New Milford 14-9, Ledyard 12-0, and Southbury 13-2 to earn the top seed. The Renegades won the state title a year ago and will go for another championship when the Connecticut State Tournament opens this weekend in Danbury.
The Renegades are managed by Jim Robinson and coaches are Joe Rios and Adam Taylor. Members of the team are: Matthew Bradbury, CJ Demers, Charlie Eppers, Luke Galer, Reagin Gallagher, John Godino, Connor Haywood, Liam Murphy, Joey Rios, Dillon Robinson, Jack Street, and Josh Taylor.
The Renegades are hosting the Cal Ripken 11U New England Regional Tournament at Glander in August and will look to repeat as champions of that tourney as well.
