FATHERâS NIGHT with Jeff Steinberg â Monday, May 15, 7:30 to 9 pm in the parentsâ corner.
MOTHERâS NIGHT at Ricciâs Salon on Tuesday, May 16, at 7 pm. Sign up through NYS for an evening of beauty tips, image/color analysis, trends in fashion, and a gift certificate for a complimentary haircut for all moms in attendance. Two lucky moms will have a haircut, color (if necessary), and a make-up session. Please call NYS to reserve your space for May 16.
Job Bank
Spring has finally arrived and summer is almost here. Now is a great time to register with the Job Bank. New jobs are called in daily. So, if you are looking for a part-time or full-time job, NYS may be able to assist you in your search. The NYS Job Bank is open to students 13 to 17. Application forms are available at the office. CELEBRATE YOUTH MONTH.
GAIL SMITH AND OUTSTANDING YOUTH AWARDS
The Gail Smith Awards will be presented at the NYS annual meeting on May 22 at 7 pm. Open to the public, the guest speaker is Ed Meincke, director of Glastonbury Youth Services and the founder of the Connecticut Youth Services Association. âThe Importance of Youth Work in Todayâs Worldâ will be the topic. Kindly RSVP by May 16.
Outstanding Youth Awards are set for 4 pm on May 25. Recipients are honored for outstanding qualities in the following categories: Community Service, Babysitting, Friend, Giving to Others, etc.

The High School Youth Advisory Board (HS YAB) has announced the new slate of officers: Kate Bouteiller and Chris Lyddy, co-chairs; Karen Earle, treasurer; and Jen Koch, secretary. If you are interested in joining YAB, please call for an application or see one of the officers for information.
NYCAAP â will meet on Tuesday, May 16, at 5:30 pm.
The Middle School Youth Advisory Board (MS YAB) will be honored at a reception to be held on Wednesday, May 17, 4 pm at NYS. This is a very special event for very special people. We hope all members and their families will join us. This will be the last meeting until the fall.
