Jonathan Peter Jayne

Avid Outdoorsman

Jonathan Peter Jayne, 69, of Harwinton, formerly of Newtown and Bethlehem, died December 1.  He was the husband of Jo-Ann (Siena) Jayne.  Mr Jayne was born May 11, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y. a son of Edward and Eleanore (Keyes) Jayne. 

In addition to his loving wife, survivors include a sister–in–law, Sue Jayne; and two nephews, Jeffrey Jayne and Christopher Jayne, all of Newtown.

He was a veteran of the US Army and worked for Moore Special Tool Company for 41 years before retiring in 2001. After retirement, he worked at Rumsey Hall School in Washington.

 Mr Jayne was a member of the Newtown Fish and Game Club.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved traveling.

A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for December 5, at 11 am, at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours were scheduled at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson–Lovetere, 2 School Street, Woodbury, Thursday, December 4 from 5 to 8 pm. 

Memorial contributions can be made to New Milford Hospital Cancer Center, 21 Elm Street, New Milford CT 06776.
