Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes

DANBURY — Jane Elliott, the originator of the groundbreaking “Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes” discrimination experiment, is scheduled to speak at Western Connecticut State University at 5:30 pm on Monday, April 28, in the Student Center Theater, on the university’s Midtown campus at 181 White Street. Titled “The Anatomy of Prejudice,” Ms Elliott’s lecture will focus on the problem of racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia, ethnocentrism, and other isms.

Several television documentaries have covered Ms Elliott’s work. Among them are ABC’s The Eye of the Storm, which won the Peabody Award, and A Class Divided, which was broadcast nationally on the PBS Frontier Series and is currently widely used with high school students in South Africa.
