An Old Fashioned Christmas Bazaar

SEYMOUR — An “Old Fashion Christmas” is the theme of the annual Christmas Tea & Bazaar at Great Hill United Methodist Church, which will be held on Friday, December 3, from 7 to 9 pm, and Saturday, December 4, from 9 am to 1 pm.

Available for sale will be wide selection of items hand crafted by church members, including tree ornaments, wall hangings and holiday decorations for the home. Other items include candles, hand braided rugs, handmade bears, and decorated grave boxes.

Friday night will feature local groups performing Christmas music. Also on Friday, a gourmet dessert buffet will offer creations such as Black Forest Cake, Brandy Apricot Almond Torte, Cheesecake and Tiramisu, all served with an assortment of flavored coffees.

The focal point on Saturday will be a complimentary tea table, complete with silver service and festive goodies, where friends and neighbors may exchange holiday greetings. A hearty soup and sandwich lunch will also be available.

On Saturday there will be a Children’s Shopping Room, where only children will be allowed to choose inexpensive gifts. These purchases come complete with gift wrapping. Also for the children, hands-on holiday crafts and free face painting will be offered.

The Holiday Giveaway this year includes a Winter Memories Quilt appliqued by Wendy Calabrese. Also offered will be an American Girl doll and gift certificates from local restaurants.

The church is at the intersection of Routes 334 and 188, on the Seymour/Oxford line. Call the church at 888-9425 for further information.
