Frightening Event, Good Ending
Frightening Event,
Good Ending
To the Editor:
This is a thank you for the Newtown Ambulance team. The Monday night before the hurricane my family needed to use the epi-pen for the first time on our 3-year-old little boy. It was so scary. He turned red, then blue, then his eyes rolled back just from one cherry, even though we rinsed his mouth, brushed out the remaining food from his mouth and he vomited up all that remained. The epi-pen worked to restore breathing and normal color and then the ambulance team came in, calmly and kindly and took our little boy to the Danbury emergency room so they could watch for any rebound of throat closures, or complications. They were professional and supportive and I thank God that they exist and have chosen to help people as their occupation/vocation. Our entire family thanks you and thanks, also, to our neighbor who ran to help watch our other children while we went to the hospital. So many nice people are in Newtown. So many helpful people. Thank you.
