John âJackâ R. Griffin, 70, husband of Betty Jean (Fisher) Griffin, formerly of Brookbridge Drive, Sandy Hook, died June 16 at Carilion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va., surrounded by his family.
He was born in Bridgeport, July 22, 1934, a son of the Estelle and John A. Griffin. Mr Griffin was raised in Fairfield and was a graduate of Roger Ludlow High School.
He was an avid motorcycle and radio control plane enthusiast. He also had a passion for his 1928 Ford Model A and a great love for his Rottweiler, Tuffy.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his six children, Joan Parmelee of Guilford, Patrick Griffin of Danbury, Edward Griffin of Trumbull, Michael Griffin of Derby, Dennis Griffin of Sandy Hook, and Robert Griffin of Shelton; four granddaughters, Amber Griffin, Dana Parmelee, Emily Griffin, and MacKenzie Griffin; three grandsons, Westin Parmelee, Kyle Griffin, and Connor Griffin; a son-in-law, Dr David Parmelee, and two daughters-in-law, Laurie Griffin and Lisa Griffin. He is also survived by two sisters, Gayle Griffin of California, and Ginny Rowan of Trumbull; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
