Tercentennial Events

Through September 30 — “History in The Making: Faces of Newtown,” C.H. Booth Library lower meeting room, new collection of 13 portraits by members of The Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, depicting current and former leaders and active members of Newtown community, will remain on view until September 30.

October 1 — “Tableaux Vivants: 300 Years of Newtown History in Living Pictures,” at Newtown High School auditorium, shows at 2 and 7 pm, tickets $8 adults (advance), $5 children & seniors (advance), all tickets $10 at door, Town Historian Dan Cruson will narrate four important stories of town history as portrayed by residents, also variety acts between scenes.

October 1 — On-sale date for Dan Cruson’s new book, A Mosaic of Newtown History, at Newtown High School (during Tableaux Vivants performances).
