Patrick Keating & Mary Anders

Mary Barrett and Scott Anders of Bethesda, Md., and formerly of Newtown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Frances Anders, to Patrick Joseph Keating, son of Beth and Dan Keating of Newtown.

Mary, who lives in Haleiwa, Hawaii, is a 2005 graduate of Newtown High School. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2009 and was accepted into a teaching program with Teach For America in Hawaii. She is currently employed as a teacher at Wheeler Middle School in Wahiawa.

Patrick is also a 2005 graduate of Newtown High School. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 2009. He is stationed in Oahu, Hawaii, as a first lieutenant. He is presently serving in Afghanistan and is scheduled to be home in August 2012.

A September 2012 wedding is being planned at West Point.
