Senior Blue

Newtown 6, Westport ‘B’ 3 – Dan Clement scored two goals while Tyler Davenport added a goal and two assists to lead Newtown to the win. Michael Mouchantat, Shane Wurtz and Kevin Brown all scored goals with Kevin Faust and Brown providing assists. Matt Grace made 13 saves in the cage as Andy Bouton and Tyler Reszoly combined to scoop 14 ground balls.

Junior Blue

Newtown 6, Weston 3 – Jacob Newton-Tanzer erupted for three goals in a second quarter flurry of that saw Newtown erase a 1-0 deficit to go ahead 5-2 at the half. Graham Derrickson (assisted by Stefan Dullinger) and Jake Enriquez also had second quarter goals. A fourth quarter tally by Enriquez helped salt away the win. Evan Isaacs made five saves in goal and Patrick Capozziello scooped up six ground balls. Parker Rodbell’s hustle at midfield kept the Weston players on their toes. Jack Kearney’s play at close defense was stellar.

Senior Gold

Newtown 12, New Canaan Senior Select 11 – In a thrilling game that came down to the final possession, Newtown prevailed on the road at New Canaan. With 40 seconds to go Sam Dinnan recovered a ground ball off the draw to seal the victory for Newtown. Dinnan led the team with six ground balls on the day while Steph Suhoza got five. Annie Fletcher and Meghan Bridges paced the team with three assists each. The offense was powered by Kaitlin Brophy, Lisa Vendel, Bridges, Fletcher and Brittany Wiberg. Jill Jagoe had seven saves against a powerful and talented New Canaan attack.

Darien ‘8A’ 16, Newtown 12 – In a tough back and forth game a short-handed Newtown team battled mightily and held an 8-5 halftime lead, but Darien battled back in the second half to win. Lisa Vendel, Meghan Bridges and Sam Dinnan hustled to lead Newtown in ground balls with four each. Jill Jagoe had six saves in the goal against a relentless Darien attack. Steph Suhoza and Meredith LaPerch had good games on defense combining for six ground balls and two interceptions. The offense was powered by Bridges, Vendel, Kaitlyn Brophy, and Kaley Kruger.

Senior Blue

Newtown 10, Amity 4 – Meaghan Carney scored four goals and Lily Rodriguez and Erin Brown scored two goals apiece as Newtown dominated Amity. Katie O’Dell and Emma Kingsley added a goal apiece.  Sarah Attanasio, Emma Kingsley, Carne, and Casey Rose Kerns provided assists while Megan Rockwell played well in the goal and Evelyn Fahey played strong on defense.

Junior Blue

Newtown 10, Southbury 7 – Meaghan Harkins scored a hat trick as Meredith Bridges and Erin Kenning scored two goals apiece to lead Newtown. Christina Gould, Brittany Tolla, Stephanie Roman and Emily Molloy scored solo goals as Tressa Scott, Caroline Kingsley and Sidney Hansen provided assists. Catherine Lotrecchiano and Riley Wurtz combined for 10 ground balls while Melissa Christiano was strong on defense.

Newtown 12, New Fairfield 2 – Tess Kneisel, Katie McManus, Meaghan Harkins, Brittany Tolla, Erin Kenning, Christina Gould, Meredith Bridges and Julia Trudell powered the offense in a win over New Fairfield. Brianna LeBlanc and Sarah Read had five saves each in goal as Andrea Sayegh and Emily Molloy had three ground balls a piece in the win.

Junior Gold

Newtown 13, Southbury 5 – Molly Mahony scored five goals while Alex Klein and Kaitlin VosWinkle scored two apiece to lead Newtown to the win. Megan Knox, Michelle Isabella, Maddy Keane and Chrissy VosWinkle also scored while Stephanie Perrotti, Kaitlin VosWinkle and Kelsey Packer recorded two assists each.

Ridgefield 9, Newtown 6 –

Kelsey Packer and Molly Mahony scored two goals apiece while Rachel Hyland and Alex Klein added solo goals in a loss to Ridgefield. Mary Oliver made nine saves in her first time in the cage as Kaitlyn Voswinkle and Katelyn Kean notched two assists apiece.
