Mary Elizabeth Snell

Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Snell of Washington died July 26 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Betsy is survived by her husband of 30 years, William; sons, Mark and Matthew; siblings, Helen J. Previdi of Newtown, Richard M. Targett of Danbury, Barbara T. Raftery of Bellevue, Wash., Ann M. Martin of Stratford, Margaret Mary Stave of Florida, Elizabeth A. Lewis of Florida, Jean M. Johnson of Massachusetts, and James J. Foley of Danbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betsy was born July 18, 1944, in Danbury to Helen and Richard Targett. She graduated from Green Mountain College. In 1972 she moved to Seattle and met the love of her life, her husband Bill. Most recently Betsy worked as an accountant at Intec.

Throughout her time in Seattle, Betsy was a pillar of the community, from her involvement in the PTA to her service within the community of faith. Betsy epitomized unwavering and unconditional love to her sons and husband and left an enduring impact on all she encountered.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life and legacy of Betsy Snell will be Friday, July 30 , at 2 pm at Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers Street, Edmonds, Wash.
