Green Oaks Farm Owner

Mildred S. Rockwell, 91, of Newtown, died February 12 at Danbury Hospital after a short illness. Mrs Rockwell was born in Newburgh, N.Y., on August 16, 1916, a daughter of George and Edith (Delancy) Stocks.

She graduated from Newburgh High School in 1934 and married Richard C. Rockwell in 1936. They moved to New Jersey where they managed a farm. They moved to Newtown in 1937 where Mr Rockwell managed Green Oaks Dairy Farm on Hundred Acres Road owned by Harold Green. Upon the death of Mr Green, the Rockwells purchased a farm on Brushy Hill Road, also called Green Oaks Farm, where they resided for the remainder of their lives.

 Mrs Rockwell is survived by her son, George Rockwell of Newtown; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband on February 14, 2006, and by her sister, Helen Stocks.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 15, at 7 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will be held in the Spring in Newtown Village Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
