Chester F.       Hayden

Chester F. Hayden, 82, of Trumbull, died January 31 in his home.

He is survived by a son, Jonathan Hayden, and his wife, Linda, of Newtown.

Mr Hayden was born in Bridgeport and was a Trumbull resident all of his life. He was a retired draftsman for the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a mason for more than 50 years with Washington Lodge 19.

He was a member of the Trumbull Congregational Church and former choir member. His wife, Jean (Hughes) Hayden, died on February 1.

Survivors also include two daughters, Deborah Oppel, with whom he resided, of Trumbull, and Nancy and her husband, Paul Scott, of Southbury; six grandchildren, Timothy Guay, Paul Oppel, Jessica Oppel, Jeremy Hayden, David Hayden, and Adam Hayden; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place on February 5 in the Trumbull Congregational Church, with the Rev Arlene Studer officiating. Interment was in Long Hill Cemetery.

The Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, was in charge of arrangements.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Trumbull Congregational Church Organ Fund.
