Andrew S. DeJoseph, Sr

Andrew S. DeJoseph, Sr, of Stratford, an automobile salesman with his son’s company, J&A Auto Body, Inc., in Milford, died on February 28, at the Veterans’ Administration Medical Center, West Haven.

He was the father of Marylin DeJoseph of Newtown.

Born in Bridgeport, Mr DeJoseph had been a Stratford resident for 11 years and prior to that was a Long Beach, Calif., resident for 28 years. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was the husband of the late Laurita (Therreo) DeJoseph.

Survivors include five children, Denise (DeJoseph) Garroway and her husband, Mark, of Santa Cruz, Calif., Andrea Birdsall and her husband, Michael, of Sacramento, Calif., Janet Walker and her husband, Roland, of Framingham, Mass., and Andrew S. DeJoseph, Jr, of Milford; seven grandchildren, Samuel Birdsall, Joseph Walker, Kym Venezia, Kenneth Knapp, Michael DeJoseph, Shannon DeJoseph, and Krystal Vargas; five great-grandchildren, Erica Knapp, Elyse Knapp, Anthony Venezia, Nicholas Venezia, and Dante Soltis; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass was held on March 6 in St Mark Church, Stratford. Private interment took place in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford.

The Spear-Dennis & D’Arcy Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford, was in charge of arrangements.

Contributions in memory of Mr DeJoseph may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
