Salvatore L. Attianese, 95, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, and retired owner/operator of Sal-Antone Beauty Salon, died May 11. Born on December 13, 1913, he was the son of Salvatore and Maria Attianese.
He is survived by three children, including Valerie Giarratano and her husband, Michael, of Newtown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from hairdressing school in the 1930s, he began working in the career that lasted more than 50 years. Following his retirement, he provided beautician services for hospital patients.
He served in the US Armyâs 317th Infantry Regiment. As a mortar crewman in the European theater, he was wounded in combat and awarded the Purple Heart.

A memorial service will take place at a later date and time to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
