Tech Park Needs

Scrutiny

Much has been reported in The Bee over the years regarding the historic significance of Deep Brook and the surrounding wetlands. Placing a “maximum build out” technology park near such a highly valued brook seems to lack common sense.

I am pleased that most of the members of the Legislative Council voted to remove a $2.8 million request to fund the technology park improvements from the town’s Capital Improvement Plan. I encourage those involved in the process to continue to scrutinize the proposed plan and to preserve as much open space as is legally allowed. Please consider that the “emotions” surrounding the preservation of our environment are as they should be.
