Seminar To Help With End Of Life Decisionmaking
St Rose of Lima of Newtownâs Pro-Life/Pro-Family Committee will host a seminar on end of life decisionmaking on Tuesday, October 26, beginning at 6:30 pm, in the Gathering Hall of St Rose School, 46 Church Hill Road.
Speakers will include Dr John Murphy, president and CEO of Danbury Hospital, who will address medical ethics and the new health care bill; The Reverend Paul Murphy, administrator, Holy Trinity Parish in Sherman, on Catholic Principals; The Reverend Deacon Thomas Davis Jr, associate director of the Pope John Paul II Bioethics Center at Holy Apostles College and Seminary, and an attorney at law, who will cover selected topics and norms in caring and advanced medical directives; and Sister Frances Smalkowski, CSFN, director of pastoral care at Pope John Paul II Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Danbury, who will address nursing and pastoral care issues.
Admission is free, but a freewill donation will be suggested.
