Recital Celebrated A Year Of Studies

SOUTHBURY — Students of Julie’s Piano Workshop in Sandy Hook held their spring recital on May 18 at St. James Lutheran Church in Southbury.

The students, who range in age from six to seventeen, began with a  “warm-up jam” on piano and percussion instruments, joined by family and friends. During the main event, students played solo pieces in a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, and contemporary, as well as duet pieces with teachers, siblings, and other family members.

The performers were: Jack Bittman, Danny Bittman, Grace Cioffi, Sarah Coleman, Elizabeth Varnum, Rachel Crosby, Stephanie Devaney, Carsen Godfrey, Kayla Godfrey, Avery Jerris, Michael Senf, Keri Chernoff, Callie Koch, Diya Nag, Ishan Nag, Mikayla Saunders, Jimmy Doutney, Ethan Burg, Jenny Davies, Christina DeBartolomeo, Gabrielle DeBartolomeo, Casey Demers, Lindsay Francisco, Laura Hunter, Chris Hunter, Juliette Janiszewski, Christopher Keane, Caroline Kearns, Grant Larson, Elizabeth Ludanyi, Elizabeth Marcinek, Caitlin Moss, Matthew Sadowski, Aimee Talbot, Allen Xue, and Raymund Xue.
