Edwin L. Shirley
Edwin L. Shirley, 85, of 401 Rook Road, Cromwell, husband of Mary (Crow) Shirley, died January 13 at Ridgeview Convalescent Center in Cromwell. He was the father and father-in-law of John E. Shirley and his wife Linda McClary of Newtown.
Born in Bogard, Mo., he was the son of the late Gilbert E. and Artemesia (Sheehan) Shirley.
Mr Shirley was a graduate of Missouri Valley College, Marshall, Mo., and had been employed by the Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Schenectady, N.Y. He had lived in Burnt Hills, N.Y., and Ocala, Fla., for 21 years, and Cromwell for the past 1½ years.
He is survived by three other children, and Paul A. Shirley and his wife Lena of Cromwell; two Kathleen Bush of San Diego, Calif., and Janet Baker and her husband Tom of State College, Penn.; one brother, Jack D. Shirley and his wife Glyndon of Albertville, Ala., and eight grandchildren, Christopher Bush, Tommy Baker, Kristi Baker, James Baker, Jeff Shirley, Matt Shirley, Patrick Shirley and Katharine Shirley.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
