Turkeys 2, Screaming Eagles 2 â Shaina Musco scored her second goal with just minutes left to help the Turkeys tie the Screaming Eagles. Meaghan Brophy, Nicki Haylon and Mary Kate George played well for the Turkeys while Colleen Murphy and Rachel Taback led the Eagles with goals. Assists went to Erica Federman and Katie Rose McNulty.

Breakers 2, Southpark Wolf Pack 2 â Dave Manville and Dan Cartisano scored the goals for the Breakers while Zachary Schwartz scored twice for the Wolf Pack. For the Breakers, Cody Cullens, Max Baudisch and Jacob Dauz played well while, for the Pack, Ben Cruson, Alan Schwartz and Michael Hajzer had fine performances.
Boys E
Eagles 5, Rockets 2 â Tom Cappozziello scored two goals and Chad Cullens, Tom Murphy and Michael Czarnecki scored one apiece to lead the Eagles to the win. Mark Malia and Doug Brede led the defense. Sean Burson and Ryan Cassidy each scored for the Rockets while Ryan Ames played well at midfield and Collin Gage anchored the defense for the Rockets.
Tigersharks 2, Nightmare 0 â Casey Tenney and Tim Daulton scored a goal each to lift the âSharks to the win. Tim Wilmott played well in goal. Lewis Thompson had two assists.
Girls E
Da Bears 3, Monsters 2 â Lauren Meyer and Kaitlin Brophy led the offense and lifted Da Bears to the win. Isabel Gleason and Katherine Scott also played well. For the Monsters, Samantha Wray and Anna Berneth played great while Jennifer Daley scored the goals.
Hurricanes 2, Panthers 1 â Jamine Keating and Stephanine Arndt scored a goal a piece to lift the Hurricanes over the Panthers. Jennifer Hauner and Chelsen Young provided the additional Hurricane punch. Kara Brown scored the lone goal for the Panthers, while Kaitlyn Connolly and Susan Mason and Gabriella Mason provided solid Panther defense.
Blizzard 0, Nightmares 0 â Becky Lynch, Courtney Berko and Erica Green played well for the Nightmares while Katie McMoran, Riley Cameron and Gabrielle Milano had solid performances for the Blizzard.

Nighthawks 3, Blizzard 0 â Merideth Bridges scored two goals to lead the Nighthawks to the win. Courtney Becket and Sally Martinelli also played well for the âHawks. Emily Molloy, Abigail Hungaski and Alison Krohn played well for the Blizzard.
Lightning 3, Wildcats 0 â Kendall Svanda scored a pair of goals and Shannon OâGorman added nother to lift the Lightning to the win. Kelly Gaston has superb ball handling. For the Wildcats, Lauren Sarna played excellent offense while Sydney Hansen played well at goalie. Alyssa Finkenstadt and Caroline Kingsley also had good games.
Boys F
Golden Eagles 1, Hawks 1 â Colin Dutt of the Golden Eagles and Matt Rahtelli of the Hawks scored the only two goals in this tightly contested match. Nick Gerbo led the Hawkâs defense with consistent support in goal by NIck Shannon. Both Carson Leon-Gambetta and Patrick Haggerty played exceptionally well for the Golden Eagles.
Hornets 2, Thunderbolts 1 â Charlie Helgren broke the 1-1 tie with less than a minute to go to give the Hornets the victory. Gavin Scalion scored the first goal for the Hornets and Matt Ryan and Alec Lockhart played a strong game. For the âBolts, Sam Pliszka scored the lone goal. Ian Kirner had his best game of the year on defense, while Sean Elliott and Ryan Lafave played well on offense.
Roadrunners 3, Rockets 0 â Luke Piazza powered the offense as Marcus Toms, Zach Carfi, and Adam Wruck also contributed with stong field play and passing to lead the Roadrunners to the win. The Rockets got solid performances from Jake Locorotondo on the defense, Stephen Conway throughout the midfield, and Walker Mansfield in goal.
Monsters 2, Nighthawks 0 â Ryan Daignault and Frances Saracini scored the goals that lifted the Monsters to the win. Keegan Lombard, Jared Wray, Patrick Milano and Cameron Weibel had assists. For the âHawks, Eric Fiore, Nick Pedalino and Josh Villa all played well.
Boys U10
Strikers 4, Middlebury 2 â Eric Thornberg scored a pair of goals while Kyle Moore and Kai Aschick added one apiece to lead the Strikers to the win. James Truckle provided an assist. Ishan Tatake and Michael Gouldâs strong play led the offensive pressure while Tony Vacaro played solid defense to hold off Middlebury.
Girls U10
New Fairfield 2, Roadrunners 0 â Jillian Jagoe played strong at striker while Kelly OâConnor, Sarah Murtha, Emma Kingsley and Rebecca Castegner played great at midfield for the Roadrunners. Allison Pliszka anchored the strong defense.
Boys U11
Newtown 5, Danbury 2 â George Zaruba, Sam Hoagland, Gene Kallivrousis, Jeff DiNicola and Adam Buccino all scored goals for Newtown. Strong performances where given by Nahba Bropleh, Colin Jacob, Dan Clement and Chris McCann.
Newtown 7, New Milford 1 â Andy Lapple and George Zaruba each scored a pair of goals while Dan Greenwood, Ben Mahony and Kyle Droniak contributed one apiece to lead Newtown to the win. Matt Iassogna, Benjamin Miles Eric Keogler, Kyle Kromberg and Matt Slattery all put in strong performances.
Boys U12
Naugatuck 3, Nightmares 1 (State Cup) â Newtown made it to the 3rd round of State Cup but came up short. Andrew Meisel scored the lone goal. Strong play in defense was by John Gouveia, Mickey Fay, Chris Marks and Chris Parker.
Nightmares 9, Brookfield 1 â Nightmares bounced back the next day with only 11players available for the game. The scoring came from Andrew Domingos, Ryan Goodridge, Kurt Nacewicz and Andrew Meisel with two goals each. Connor Collier added a goal and three assists. The net was controlled by Mickey Fay.
Girls U12
Suffield 3, Hurricanes 1 â Great goal tending by Jen Brewer kept the game close for the Hurricanes. Megan Hansen scored for the âCanes on a PK. Adelle Cerrata, Molly Curry, and Belle Hydock all played strong games.
SAMBA U13
Samba 2, Oakwood 2 â Samba rallied twice to earn a tie against powerhouse Oakwood. Justin Miller scored a pair of goals to pace Samba while Bret Lehner, Mat DeBrantes and Sean Weir dominated the Samba defense in the second half as the Oakwood attack was denied. James Cersonsky and Patrick Houston added offense pressure for Samba.
Samba 2, Bristol 0 (State Cup) â Anthony Florez (from Justin Miller) and Mike Vontobel scored to lead Samba to the win. Goaltender Danny Smith earned the shutout with a strong defensive effort by âsweeperâ Chris Meier in State Cup action. Drew Taylor, Kenneth Lombardi, Alex Bowen, Paul Andras and Tomi Homannay all gave tireless minutes. Samba advances to the State Cup Final, which we are to be held in Newington, on June 1.
Girls U14
Nitros 4, Litchfield 2 â Allison Bull scored a pair of goals (one off a penalty kick) while Kristene Salbu and Amelia Taylor scored one apiece to lead the Nitros to the win. Kristene Salbu had an assist. Tilly Philbrick, Liza Moss, Jen Iassogna, and Jen Greenwood had solid games on offense while Erica Vacaro, Megan Miller, Heather Young and keeper Caryn Lieberman anchored the defense.
Girls U16
Newtown 2, Glastonbury 1 (State Cup) â Sarah Gutbrod scored (on an assist from Caitlin Hansen) in sudden-death overtime to lead Newtown to the win and advancing the locals on to the State Cup quarterfinals. Elyssa Samsel also scored while Emily Fields, Sarah Salbu and Kristina Haliskoe all had excellent games.
Newtown 4, Southbury 0 â Kaitlyn Ferguson, Rose Jackman, Kayla Mesko and Elyssa Samsel all scored to lead Newtown past Southbury. Emma MacHugh, Megan Rawson and Rachel Eastman had assists. Sarah Gutbrod and Mary Ober had strong games in the midfield.
