Considerate

Mohan S. Nadkarni, 94, of Orange, Conn., died August 9 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Haigund, India, June 19, 1912.

He was a loving father to Ravi Nadkarni of Newtown, Sheela Nadkarni, and Prakash Nadkarni; father-in-law to Sara, Amar, and Rajani; grandfather to Maya, Rohit, Asha, and Sid; grandfather-in-law to Helen; and great-grandfather to Joshua. Mr Nadkarni’s beloved wife of 47 years, Shreemati, predeceased him in 1984.

Mr Nadkarni was the chief officer of the Reserve Bank of India’s department of banking operations, and was later deputed by the International Monetary Fund to advise the monetary authority of Singapore on bank inspections. After his retirement, he earned a degree in Indian classical music.

“Pappa” was a wise and saintly man who commanded respect without ever demanding it. Always nurturing and considerate, never judgmental, he taught by example and action. He will always be in the hearts of those who loved him.

Private funeral services were held August 11.
