Pulitzer Prize Author At Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — Playwright Tony Kushner, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of the epic Angels of America, will restart Fairfield University’s Open VISIONS Forum 2000-01 season with a program on Wednesday, February 21, at 7:30 pm, at Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. Mr Kushner’s topic, “The Arts as Political Provocateur,” will challenge the audience with the moral dilemmas of our time and ask the question, “Can we change?”

The 2000-01 series has been on temporary hiatus during Fairfield University’s winter break.

The university’s department of visual and performing arts has named Mr Kushner this year’s Visiting Artist. During his visit to campus, made possible by a special grant, the playwright will conduct master/workshop classes with the school’s theater students.

The Open VISIONS Forum is a program of Fairfield University’s School of Continuing Education. Tickets for the Kushner lecture are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors. For ticket information call the Quick Center box office at 203/254-4010 or toll-free at 877/ARTS-396 (278-7396).
