Leslie E. Birkmaier, 78, of Trumbull, died May 16, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Fairfield, and was the beloved husband of Lynette Griswold Birkmaier.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving son Gary Birkmaier, and his wife Lisa, and a grandson, all of Newtown.

Mr Birkmaier was planetarium director for more than 35 years at the Museum of Art, Science and Industry in Bridgeport.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20, at a time to be announced, in Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will be private. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, May 19, from 5 to 7 pm, in the Redgate Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
