Remembering Trudy Goodrow
Remembering Trudy Goodrow
To the Editor:
I was saddened to read of the death of Trudy Goodrow in the August 24, 2012, edition of The Bee. Trudy was my guiding light in the storm of new motherhood. For more than 30 years she was the office administrator of the pediatric office of Dr Draper and, starting in 1991, I saw her often.
She always treated me with kindness and respect no matter how many times I called for an appointment. When I would describe my sonâs symptoms she would say, âBetter bring him in so you will know.â She was an experienced mother while I was an inexperienced mother and I was grateful for her guidance.
I felt Trudyâs absence when she retired from the office of Dr Mortera and wrote to her in South Carolina telling her so. She wrote back kindly inviting me to stop by if ever I was down in the area. I am sorry I did not get to see her again. Trudy was an important person in my life and I will never forget her.
