‘Dirty Blonde’ At TheatreWorks

NEW MILFORD — Opening night for TheatreWorks New Milford’s next production, Claudia Shear’s hit comedy Dirty Blonde, is Friday, December 5.

In this sweet and quirky comedy, two obsessive Mae West fans fall in love after meeting at her gravesite. Their romance is then aided and abetted by none other than Miss West herself.  Filled with music, laughter, and romance, Dirty Blonde brings Mae West back to the stage to say, “Come up and see me sometime.”

Directed by Jane Farnol, Dirty Blonde features Susan Pettibone, Jonathan Ross, and Steven Oliveri.

The regular dates of Dirty Blonde will be Friday and Saturday evenings, December 5-6, 12-13 and 19-20, all at 8 pm. A matinee has been scheduled for Sunday, December 21, at 2 pm. Tickets for these shows are $15.

On Thursday, December 4, senior citizens are invited to free dress rehearsal at 8 pm.  Then on Thursday, December 11, also at 8 pm, TheaterWorks will present this production’s Pay-What-You-Want night. At this performance the audience names the price for their tickets. No reservations are accepted for these two performances.

On New Year’s Eve – Wednesday, December 31, at 8 pm – there will be one final, one gala performance of Dirty Blonde. Tickets are $30 and will include a full performance, hors d’oeuvres and an open bar of wine, beer and soft drinks.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, volunteer professional non-Equity theatre company located at 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to M&B’s IGA) in New Milford. Reservations can be made at www.TheatreWorks.us or by calling the box office at (860) 350-6863.
