Rep Shea To Seek Reelection

MONROE — Saying she has the experience and personal relationship with her legislative colleagues that is needed to get things done for the 112th District in Hartford, state Representative Pat Shea, R-Monroe, Sunday announced she will seek a second term in the state House of Representatives.

Rep Shea, whose district includes Monroe and part of Newtown, made her announcement at an “Under the Hat” party at her home in Monroe. About 60 supporters, all wearing hats, were in attendance.

“I’m not keeping it under my hat any longer,” Rep Shea said in her announcement address. “I’m gearing up my bike and I’m ready to ride. I’m a candidate for reelection. No question about it.”

When she first ran for the state House of Representatives two years ago, Rep Shea did most of her door-to-door campaigning on her bicycle.

“I know the issues that are important to the people of Monroe and Newtown,” Rep Shea said. “They are education, open space preservation, tax relief, and programs to help our seniors. I know the ‘how’s and who’s’ at the state capitol and I know how to get things done for our towns. I want to continue to be your voice in Hartford for the next two years.”
