Picturing Natural Settings

WESTON — Twenty-one professional or amateur photographers are sharing space in the Nature Conservancy’s Fourth Annual Photography Exhibit, entitled “Picture the Den.” A collection of 55 color or black-and-white framed or matted photographs of features from either the 1756-acre Devil’s Den Preserve or the 62-acre Katharine Ordway Preserve, both in Weston, are on view at Weston Library through March 24.

The library is at 56 Norfield Road, just east of Route 57 near the center of Weston. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm; Wednesday, 9 am to 8 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm; and Sunday, noon to 4 pm.

The featured photographers come from nine towns in Connecticut. Their photographs show some of the dramatic scenery and features at just two of the Nature Conservancy’s Connecticut preserves.

The public is invited to view the photographs of landscapes and special aspects as recorded by people who enjoy the preserves’ more than 24 miles of trails, which are open all year long during daylight hours. The exhibition offers artistic interpretations of nature and is meant to also entice new visitors to the scenery and programs available at the Devil’s Den and Katharine Ordway preserves.
