Bell Ringers Needed In Newtown

The Newtown Service Unit of the Salvation Army is holding its annual Kettle Bell Ringing on December 9-10 and December 16-17. Volunteers are still needed to ring the bells for one hour at various sites around Newtown.

The kettles will be at Stop & Shop, Lexington Gardens, Yankee Wine & Spirits, CVS, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Bagel Delite.

“These are places where you will meet your old friends and make new ones as everyone is always so pleased to see our bell ringers,” Marie Sturdevant said. Ninety percent of the money raised through this effort stays in Newtown for needed community services, she said.

Anyone who can help out for an hour on either of the two weekends should call Sylvia Poulin at 426-6803 or Ms Sturdevant at 740-2733 to see what slots are still available.
