Robert N. McLeod

Devoted Husband And Father

Robert N. McLeod, 64, of Danbury, a devoted husband and father, died August 6 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Janet (Miller) McLeod. Mr McLeod was born in Bridgeport, February 6, 1943, the son of Oliver and Elsie (Stirk) McLeod.

In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by his two sons, Rick McLeod and his wife, Amy, of Newtown and Clint McLeod and his wife, Karen, of Southbury; two grandchildren, Ainsley and Caden McLeod; many cousins, friends; and the family dog, Ernie.

He was raised and educated in the Milford and Easton areas, and later received his certification from the Silver Mine College of Art, received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Bridgeport, and his master of fine arts degree from Boston University. Mr McLeod was a graphic artist, retiring several years ago. He held a keen interest in geneology, tracing his own and his wife’s family histories back to the 1600s. He had been a resident of Danbury for more than 30 years.

Funeral services were celebrated on Thursday, August 9, at the Danbury United Methodist Church, Clapboard Ridge Road, with the Rev Terry Pfeiffer officiating. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main Street, Danbury CT 06810, or to the Danbury Hospital Development Fund, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury CT 06810.
