Dr Sussman Hosts Online Series On Pregnancy

NEW MILFORD — John Sussman, chief of obstetrics and gynecology at New Milford Hospital and author of three books on pregnancy, will present a series of lectures on WebMD.com on October 3, 10, and October 17 at noon.

The topic for October 3 is “Lifestyle 101: Making the Best Choices for Your Baby,” a discussion on weight gain, nutrition, exercising, and sex.  This program will also cover the latest research on first-time pregnancies, giving birth after a previous pregnancy loss, and giving birth under special circumstances, such as pregnancy after infertility, pregnant and 40-plus, and being pregnant and plus-sized.

On October 10 “What’s it Really Like to Give Birth?” looks into what happens to your body before going into labor, true versus false labor pain, pain relief during labor, what to expect during each phase of labor, and meeting your baby.

“The Postpartum Survival Guide” is the topic for the final program on October 17. This lecture includes the truth about babies: sleeping, eating, elimination, and crying. It will also look at how new mothers might be feeling physically and emotionally.

In addition to the Wednesday series, Dr Sussman is available to answer specific questions through the WebMD Pregnancy Message Board.
