The Working Women’s Forum, an association of local professionals and entrepreneurs, will feature a talk entitled “What You Eat Really Does Matter” on Wednesday, January 8, at The Villa Restaurant, 4 Riverside Road.

Educator Lisa Swain will be discussing all the ways that nutrition impacts health, including the importance of a plant-based diet, which foods and beverages to avoid, and how the USDA’s current guidelines can improve every aspect of health.

She has degrees in biopsychology and education, and teaches science at a private school in New Canaan.

Ms Swain is also an adjunct professor at Naugatuck Valley Community College, teaching in the psychology and early childhood education departments.

Networking and light dinner begin at 6 pm followed by the speaker. For reservations, e-mail rsvp@workingwomensforum.net or call WWF President Pat Marlin at 203-426-7022.

The program and dinner fee is $10 for members, $25 for nonmembers with a cash bar.  The group will be accepting canned food, and personal health and beauty items for FAITH Food Pantry.
