Area Insurance Groups Merge
Newtown insurance agency Carmody, Dyer and Carey, has merged with Danbury-based Hyatt, Andrews & Murray, and Southbury-based Southbury Insurance Agency. This recent transaction will enable all three agencies to provide a wider range of products and services to a steadily increasing client base throughout south central Connecticut.
All three agencies provide a full line of personal and business insurance and risk management products and services to individuals and small to mid-sized locally owned companies. As independent agents, they do business with a wide range of insurance carriers and select the products and services that best suit their clientsâ particular needs.
According to Carmody, Dyer and Careyâs president, Bob Dyer, the merger is a plus for both the agency and their clientele. âCertainly, growth is key for success in our industry,â said Mr Dyer, âand our new business partners are a perfect fit for us. They enable us to expand our business coverage offerings to complement our personal insurance product lines, so we can serve more of our clientsâ needs. Also, with additional management and administrative resources at my disposal, I can concentrate on what I do best, and thatâs to provide personal service to my clients here in the Newtown area.â
Mr Dyer said that the collective size of the affiliated agencies will allow his agency to negotiate more competitive pricing from insurance carriers and save clients money, while at the same time, being locally managed, he can continue to provide a superior level of personal service.
