DUI Incident
Police report that at about 11:43 pm on April 27, they were called to the Hot Shots Grille, Restaurant & Tap Room at 130 Mt Pleasant Road in response a motor vehicle accident that had occurred in the parking lot there.
After investigating, police said they charged motorist Adam Chaffee, 27, of Otis, Mass., with driving under the influence.
Following arrest processing, Chaffee was released on $250 bail for a May 12 appearance in Danbury Superior Court, according to police.
Moving Violations
While on patrol about 9:38 pm April 30, police stopped motorist William Bero, 25, of Bridgeport near 228 South Main Street to investigate an apparent motor vehicle violation.
Police said they charged Bero with a headlamp violation and with driving with a suspended license. Bero was released on $100 bail for a May 10 court appearance.
School Bus Crash
Police report that Emanuel Pavone, 54, of 168 Huntingtown Road was driving a school bus without any passengers northward on Hattertown Road, at its intersection with Saddle Ridge Road, about 6:23 am on April 29, when for an unknown reason the busâs passenger side rear-view mirror struck a utility pole along the right road shoulder.
The impact caused the utility pole to break, police said. Pavone was treated at the accident scene for minor injuries, police said.
A section of Hattertown Road was closed to traffic until utility pole repairs could be made. Police said the accident is under investigation.
Church Hill Collision
Motorist Erik Samuelson, 17, of 5 Forest View Drive, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck westward on Church Hill Road at about 8:20 pm April 20, was attempting to make a left turn into the parking lot for the Blue Colony Diner, as motorist Deborah Flynn, 46, of Woodbury was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry sedan eastward on Church Hill Road, police said.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police said Samuelson received an infraction for making a restricted turn.
 Dodge Vs VW
Police said they received a late accident report that on the afternoon of April 14 that motorist Calvin Knotts, 52, of Converse, Ind., who had been driving a 2011 Dodge 3500 pickup truck in the Blue Colony Diner parking lot on Church Hill Road, had struck a parked, unoccupied 2008 Volkswagen Jetta sedan there. There were no injuries.
Suspicious Fires
Police said they are investigating the cause of two suspicious brush fires that were reported as occurring at 4:06 and 4:11 pm on April 30. The small fires burned alongside High Rock Road and also alongside Berkshire Road (Route 34) near Zoar Road, police said.
Police said that a gray/silver Jeep Grand Cherokee was spotted in the area of one of those fires. Police ask anyone with information on the origin of the fires to contact Officer Scott Ruszczyk at 203-426-5841.
Pine Tree Hill Road
Police report a one-vehicle accident near 45 Pine Tree Hill Road about 10:37 pm April 23.
Motorist Misty Csech, 36, of Bridgeport was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra northward on Pine Tree Hill Road when the vehicle went off the right road shoulder and struck a curbside mailbox and a tree, according to police.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave Csech a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Intersection Crash
A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of South Main Street and Country Club Road about 2:42 pm April 26, police report.
Police said motorist George Lowell, 55, of 77 Far View Drive was driving a 2006 Ford Ranger pickup truck northward on South Main Street and was attempting to make a left turn onto Country Club Road, when the Ford collided with a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta sedan being driven by Renee Deveau, 39, of 5 Bears Hill Road.
Renee Deveau and Volkswagen passenger Joshua Deveau, 6, of the same address, both complained of minor injuries, police said.
Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members and Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued Lowell a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.

Mt Pleasant Road
Motorist Deborah Somogie, 54, of Shelton was driving a 2006 Mazda 3 sedan westward near 131 Mt Pleasant Road about 1:24 pm April 28 and then stopped for traffic conditions, police said.
Westbound motorist Joan Harland, 59, of West Haven, who was driving a 2003 Honda Accord sedan, attempted to stop, but struck the rear end of the Mazda, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave Harland a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Warrant
About 6:30 pm on May 2, a youth went to the police station after learning that police held a warrant for his/her arrest.
Police said they charged the youth with sixth-degree larceny for the alleged theft of an unspecified item. Sixth-degree larceny involves the theft of an item worth less than $500.
The police investigation followed a March 10 report of a theft.
After arrest processing, police released the youth on a written promise to appear on May 16 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court.
Because the person charged is under age 18, the youthâs identity is shielded from public disclosure by state law.
DUI Charge
Police said that motorist David Lindblom, 60, of 10 Sunnyview Terrace was driving a 2001 Chrysler Sebring in a commercial parking lot at 5 Queen Street at about 11 am May 3, when the vehicle struck a lightpost there.
Lindblom continued traveling, after which he entered the parking lot at 26 Church Hill Road for Wells Fargo Bank, where he was stopped and the situation was investigated, resulting in his arrest on a charge of driving under the influence, police said.
Following arrest processing, Lindblom was released on $250 bail for a May 17 court appearance, police said.
