Thunderfeet 3, Shooting Stars 1 â Lauren Simppin, Natalie Valla, and Casey Fergenson all scored to lead the âFeet to the win. Julie Meehan played excellent defense along with Marissa Bobkowski in the goal. Megan Bridges scored a goal for the Stars on an assist from Gina Pisacreta. Both Brittany Pasko and Hannah DeFlumeri both played great defense in the goal.
Rapids 2, Hurricanes 1 â Caitlin Marsden and Courtney Berko scored the goals to lead the Rapids to the win. Caitlyn Costa played well. For the âCanes, Stephanie Arndt scored the goal while Andre Maret and goalies Libby Maret and Samantha Whitley played well.

Jaguars 4, Warriors 0 â Steven Jaroszewski scored three goals and Ryan DiLuoffo added another to pace the Jaguars past the Warriors. Timmy Lacouture and Brian Grimes guided the Jaguar offense by providing key assists. For the Warriors, Theo Hartlett and Kyle Hufzigner played great on offenseas Bryan Wicki and Tommy Gilbert played well on defense.
GIRLS E
Sharpshooters 4, Fireshooters 1 â Alexandra Grant scored a pair of goals to lead the Sharpshooters to the win. Mathilda Dean, Abby Keough and Emily Flores played well. For the Fireshooters, Julia Klucik scored a goal as Alyssa Finkenstadt and Katie McMorran played well.
Lightning Feet 4, Sensational Sixers 0 â Hannah Maret scored a pair of goalsand Sera Pisani and Samantha Salvatore scored one apiece to lead the Lightning Feet. Danni Villa had strong play in keeping the pressure on goal. For the Sixers, Justine Paprowski, Cassie Falone, Keri Chernoff and Emily Teri had good games.
Hawks 1, One-ders 0 â Lila Kohrman-Glaser scored off an assist from Emma Iannini to lead the Hawks. Alyse Brautigam and Celeste Cheung had great games. For the One-ders. Jenny Gumbrecht, Katherine Scott, Dana Bowers, and Jessica McDonald had solid performances.
Nighthawks 2, Cheetahs 1 â Natalie Landfair and Emily Audet scored goals as the Nighthawks came from behind to win a close game. Alicia Canafiello and Jen Smith both had strong games in net. Meredith Bridges notched the Cheetahâs goal, while Jessica Haitz and Gabriella Mason played great defense and Elizabeth Grimes played well on offense.
BOYS E
Cobras 4, Terminators 1 â Goals by Ian Solaski, Tom DiLuoffo, and Chris Arnone (2) led the Cobras to the win. Will Little scored for the Terminators with Dieter Gutbrod and Brian White playing good overall soccer the whole game.
Kings 5, Team (#5) 0 â Goals by Thomas Murphy, Thomas Capozziello, Connor Quinn, Nick Gerbo, and Christopher Erikson helped propel the Kings to the win. Having good, strong games for Team 5 were Vince Brophy and Patrick Ricardi at midfield, Andy Hsu on defense, and Michael Calderoni in goal.
GIRLS F
Killer Bees 1 Tornados 1 â Elisa Navarro of the Bees and Kerry Scallon of the Tornadoes scored the lone goals of the game. For the Bees, Lauren Sarna and Ryan Elisabeth Cassin played great offense. Lillia Hutchinson played well in goal. For the Tornadoes, Emily Grimes and Lilly Holmes combined in goal while Rebecca Grant was solid on offense.
Huskies 5, Wildcats 2 â Caitlin Yakush, Melissa Buccino, Amy Martin, Brittany Tolla and Rachel Karnoff all scored to lead the Huskies to the win. Jane Sclafani and Sarah Craig were tenacious.
Shockers 4, Thunder 1 â Ellyn Gordon scored two goals to lead the Shockers. Emily Suitek and Taylor Brady also scored goals. Emily Albrecht played well on defense. Kristiana Engler scored for the Thunder while Emily Brisson played excellent defense and Michelle Zarifis played well at midfield.
Cheetahs 5, Hawks 0 â Tressa Scott scored two goals while Gabrielle DeBartolomeo, Kristen DeGirolamo, and Sydney Hansen all scored a goal to lead the Cheetahs. The Hawks got good games from Lillia McEnaney, Hope McMoran on offense, and Tess Murray on defense.

Monsters 6, Lightning 2 â Francis Saraceni and Patrick Milano scored three goals apiece to lead the Monsters to the win. Eric Fiore and Gabe Keogler played well. For the Lightning, Daniel Bittman and Wesley Morlock scored goals while Devin DiNicola and Connor Gallagher played well.
MetroStars 4, Bombers 1 â Charlie Helgren scored a pair of goals while Josh Villa and Stephen Walsh had one apiece to lead the MetroStars to the win. Mitchell Stewart provided an assist. For the Bombers, Matthew Villamana scored while Tyler Coleman and Jonah Muniz played well on offense. Matthew Ruefenacht had a strong game.
Tornadoes 4, Roadrunners 0 â Kevin Conte scored two goals and Yossi Kohrman-Glaser and Matthew Baldino scored one apiece to lead the Tornadoes. Nick Shannon was strong in the midfield. For the Roadrunners, Christian Mather and Will Dalton led the defense as Niles Wilson and Timmy Vogelman showed good aggressive play.
Nighthawks 5, White Lightning 1 â Alex Roche scored three goals while Will Carr and Nicholas Lotretchiano scored one apiece to lead the âHawks to the win. Jim Parker played well. For the Lightning, Stephen Conway scored the goal as Jacob Locorotondo, Danny Cummings, and Connor Roche played excellent defense.
Supersonics 3, Nucleus 0 â Clayton Makuch scored two goals and Tyler Hanna added one to lead the âSonics to the win. Sean Fahey was strong in the midfield. For the Nucleus, Matt Ryan and Russell Morgan played well on offense while David Tortora and Greg Campbell had good all-around games.

Crusaders 5, New Fairfield 2 â Collin Cooper, Adam Ellison, Hank Helgren, Ryan Dunnigan and Andre Cappozziello all scored to lead the Crusaders to the win. Travis LeBlanc and Josh Barrett played excellent defense keeping the Crusaders always in the lead.

Strikers 2, Litchfield 1 â Daniel Lynch (a header) and Dan Hufziger (off an assist by Eric Thornberg) scored to lift the Strikers to the win. Josh Engler, Aaron Nezvesky, Michael Gould and Max Brazo all played well. Ishan Tatake did an awesome job in goal.
BOYS U12
Raptors 4 Torrington 2 â Benjamin Miles, Gene Kallivrousis, Adam Buccino and Eric Keogler all scored to lead the Raptors to the win. Goalie Danny Clement, Kyle Kromberg and George Zaruba where key players on defense.
GIRLS U12
Rampage 9, Watertown 1 â Laura Bittman (3), Kristen Tanner (2) and Sara Kelley, Susan Mason and Monica Warek all scored to lead the Rampage in a rout. Laetitia de Brantes had a pair of assists while Kelley, Warek and Caleigh Boyle contributed assists, as well. Jordyn Good and Katie Pessin shared the goalie duties to shut down Watertownâs offensive charge.
GIRLS U13
Hurricanes 2, Brookfield 1 â Kasey Schulz (one off an assist from Nora Lynn Shimko) scored a pair of goals to lead the Hurricanes to the win. Emily Kluga has a strong game in goal and solid midfield play by Katie Serock, Cassie David, and Mary Bloshuk kept pressure on Brookfield.

Newtown 3, Danbury 1 â Harriet Morgan scored a pair of goals (the first off a corner kick from Eva Cerreta and the second off a pass from Colleen Thornberg) to lead Newtown to the win. Ashley Braun also scored off an assist from Thornberg. Jackie Kirol, Claire Ober, Julie Landin and Jackie Petrasanta all played well.
Newtown 1, Wilton 0 â Julie Landin scored an unassisted goal to lead Newtown to a win in the Ridgefield Tournament. Christie Attanasio made the play of the game on defense, clearing a ball while backing up the goalie. Jackie Kirol and Alana Bilangi also played well.
New Canaan 1, Newtown 0 â Katie Power had a strong game in goal, but New Canaan edged the locals in the Ridgefield Tournament. Jackie Petrasanta, Kendra OâConnor and Eva Cerreta played well.
Soccer Club
Skills Training
The Newtown Soccer Club is offering free in-house skills and goalie training for all players in the F, E and C/D divisions. Newtown High School boys varsity coach Brian Neumeyer (along with members of the boys and girlsâ varsity teams) will direct the training. In addition, there will be players from the University of Bridgeportâs womenâs soccer team participating at selected sessions.
Michael Brennan will direct goalie training and it will be held at the same time as the field training. Goalies should bring goalie gear.
The sessions will take place at the field behind Newtown High School from 5 - 6:30 pm on the following dates: September 15, 22, 29 and October 7. All players should wear cleats and shin guards. In addition, each player should bring a ball and a sports drink or water.
