Mr Brown’s work is a harrowing love story of a middle-aged couple whose lives are changed by the arrival of terrorism in the United States and an irrational fear that follows. Slated to appear in the presentation are Keir Dullea and Mia Dillon.

The presentation will be in The Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street in Newtown. It will include a talk-back with the performers and director following the reading, and coffee and dessert by Andrea’s Pastry Shop of Newtown.

Mr Dullea is best known for the character of astronaut David Bowman, in the sci-fi classic 2001: A Space Odyssey and the sequel, 2010: The Year We Make Contact. He has appeared in over thirty films including starring roles in Bunny Lake is Missing and Black Christmas. He won the  Golden Globe for his role in David & Lisa and appeared as the Senator in The Good Shepherd, directed by Robert DeNiro and starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie. He is married to Mia Dillon.

Mia Dillon has appeared on Broadway in Crimes of the Heart, Agnes of God, Da, Hay Fever, The Miser and with Paul Newman in the revival of Our Town. She has been a frequent guest star on Law and Order, Law and Order: Criminal Intent and Law & Order SVU, and has appeared in numerous films including Gods and Generals and All Good Things starring Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella.

The reading will be directed by Stray Kats Theatre Company Artistic Director Kate Katcher, herself an actor, writer and director.

Kent R. Brown’s works have been produced throughout Canada, Belgium, The Netherlands, Australia and the United States. Titles include Valentines and Killer Chili, Two Beers and a Hook Shot, Larry’s Favorite Chocolate Cake, Designer Genes, Playtime, and dozens others. Critical recognition includes prizes from Mill Mountain Theatre, McLaren Comedy Festival, Boston Theatre Marathon, George R. Kernodle, Pulse Ensemble and Denver Center Theatre Festival competitions as well as a Drama-Logue Award for Excellence in Writing.

In 2007, In The Middle of Nowhere won the ARTSport New Works Playwriting Contest, where Ms Katcher first discovered the play. It also won the Beverly Hills Theatre Guild/Julie Harris Playwright Award later that year and is about to be published.
