Gift Endows Scholarship Fund

The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School, located in Dodgingtown, recently received the largest single gift to date; $523,000 was granted by an anonymous donor with the sole intent of setting up a scholarship fund. The donor’s goal is to reach new students and families who desire a Waldorf grade school education but are hindered by their current economic situation.

One scholarship will be awarded to fund a scholarship of up to 90 percent of tuition cost for the 2006-2007 school year, with an additional scholarship becoming available the following year.

The guidelines state the scholarship will follow the student throughout his or her career at the Housatonic Valley Waldorf  School, as long as he or she continues to qualify annually.

The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School currently offers tuition assistance. The gift of this endowment strengthens the school’s ability to fulfill the vision of making a Waldorf education available to all who desire it regardless of economic status.
